The Temple of Arts is a not-for-profit charitable organisation that was registered in 2014. It started with a few like-minded individuals, who shared a common passion in music and drama. Our organisation was founded as an effort to take “time out” and create an artistic platform to help the community nurture, practice and retain our culture in Australia. We are lucky to be a part of such a vibrant multicultural society in Australia, and we’re even luckier that both state and federal governments help facilitate and promote organisations such as The Temple of Arts in a bid to bring people together through the various arts and cultures of other countries.

Since its inception, The Temple of Arts has been involved in the staging of some remarkable productions. These include productions such as “The couplet of Bengal” (a drama on Job Charnock), “Anandamath” (European opera style), and various musicals collaborating with Eastern and Western classic and country music in Australia. The Temple of Arts also helped produce the theatre “Oneness” - a play on Swami Vivekananda - at the Iconic Sydney Opera House (organised by the Vedanta Centre and Sarada Math in Sydney). In 2018, The Temple of Arts also produced “A Champion for India” – which was a play on sister Nivedita, and subsequently a musical called “Savitri” which was a musical on Sri Aurobindo’s epic poem Savitri.

Ushering in innovative approaches to the realms of spiritual and intellectual performances (while addressing the dilemmas confronted in modern society) is the  key objective of The Temple of Arts and what differentiates it from other arts and cultural groups in Australia and around the world.
